Bulk import

Hundreds of saved recipes. One import.

You've saved 300, 500, maybe 1,000 recipes on Instagram. Every recipe app wants you to share them over one at a time. Bonchef takes the whole Saved folder in one go and hands you back a cookbook.

Get Bonchef for iPhone

Free to download for iPhone and iPad. Bulk import is a paid feature, and nothing is charged until you've seen what we found.

The one-by-one math

Sharing them over one at a time is a weekend you won't get back.

400
recipes in a typical Saved folder
3+ hours
to share them one at a time, at half a minute each
1 upload
with Bonchef's bulk import

Most recipe apps only know the share sheet: open a Reel, tap share, pick the app, wait, go back, repeat. Bonchef reads Instagram's own export instead, so the size of your backlog stops mattering.

Which recipe apps import all your saves at once?

Most of them import from Instagram. Almost none of them take more than one post at a time.

How it works

Three steps, one evening.

  1. 1

    Ask Instagram for your saves

Request a copy of your Saved posts in Instagram's Accounts Center. It takes a minute, and Instagram sends you a zip when it's ready.

  2. 2

    Open the zip in Bonchef

Bonchef reads the file on your phone, finds every saved post and collection, and shows you what it found. You choose what goes in.

  3. 3

    Get a cookbook back

Every post becomes a full recipe with ingredients and steps, sorted into collections. Bonchef keeps working in the background and lets you know when it's done.

Built for volume

  • Sorted on arrival

Keep the collections you made on Instagram, or let Bonchef sort the whole batch by protein, time of day or mood.

  • No doubles

Posts you already imported one by one are skipped, so nothing shows up twice in your cookbook.

  • Runs in the background

Close the app and get on with your day. Bonchef sends a notification when the batch is done.

  • Up to 1,200 posts per run

Bigger library? Import your largest collections first and let the rest follow in a later run.

Bulk import FAQ

What does bulk import mean in Bonchef?

One upload of your Instagram export instead of sharing posts one at a time. Bonchef finds every saved post in the file, shows you your collections, and imports everything you select in a single batch.

Do I have to pick each post by hand?

No. You pick collections and everything inside them comes along. You can still open a collection and untick single posts if you want.

How long does a batch take?

That depends on how many posts you import. Bonchef works through them in the background and sends you a notification when it's done, so you don't have to keep the app open.

I already imported some recipes one by one. Will they double up?

No. Posts that are already in your cookbook are skipped.

Can I bulk import from TikTok or Pinterest?

Not yet. Bulk import reads Instagram's export. TikTok, YouTube and websites go in one at a time through the share sheet.

What if I have more than 1,200 saves?

One run covers up to 1,200 posts. Start with your biggest collections; the rest can follow in a later run.

What does it cost?

The app is free to download. Bulk import is a paid feature, and you see the price in the app after the preview, before anything is imported. Posts that turn out not to be recipes are skipped and never count.

Which phones does it work on?

Bonchef is available for iPhone and iPad. The export from Instagram works on any phone, but you need the Bonchef app to import it.

Your saves, finally cooked.

Export your saved posts from Instagram, open the zip in Bonchef, and cook from a real cookbook instead of a scroll.

Available on iPhone and iPad. Bulk import is paid, and you see the price before anything is imported.
